Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using the Splitwala mobile application or website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

You agree to use Splitwala only for lawful purposes. You must not:

You retain full ownership of the content you create in Splitwala — your groups, expenses, and notes. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the expense data you enter. Splitwala is a tool to help you track what you record — we cannot verify or guarantee the accuracy of amounts, and we are not responsible for any financial disputes between group members.

Splitwala is provided free of charge with no feature restrictions, subscription tiers, or advertising. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features in the future, but the core expense-splitting functionality will remain free.

We also reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will give reasonable notice where possible.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. You use the Service at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Splitwala and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or financial losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

You may delete your account at any time from the Account settings. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data from our systems within 30 days.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. If your account is terminated for a violation, you may not create a new account without our permission.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page shows when the Terms were last updated. For material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
